This is a special edition silk scarf. It is produced in Italy as a limited edition of 30, each numbered and hand-signed by the artist.
In the past, this type of scarf was intended for the much more modest social classes: many illiterate soldiers wore them in order to read the drawings explaining how to disassemble a rifle, transport wounded or stop bleeding. The shift from an instrument of civic instruction to a “style icon” such as the Carré Hermès, is striking and allows the artist to materialize the link between the simple worker at the bottom of the social ladder and the one at the top. The wealth generated by the Luxembourg steel industry is thus thematized through the actors who have benefited from it and those who have made it possible through physical labor that is often poorly recognized.
The silk scarf is exclusively available here in the online shop.
